Cadets are preparing for their “Views of the Universe” team debate on Monday. Students did close readings of biographies on Ptolemy, Copernicus, Galileo, Newton and Hubble. After breaking apart each text for understanding, the students are now preparing to debate whose view of the universe was most important to the society at that time and their impact on collective learning overall. This is not your average reading comprehension, persuasive presentation activity. Cadets are synthesizing the bios along with extra research to formulate their opening statements and supports. The process has been exciting to watch unfold.
